I've been receiving the Bible Verse of the Day for almost a year now, and it seems that 9 out of 10 times the verse is extremely dark and uninpirational. I have even thought about unsubscribing. I just don't understand. There are so many other verses that could be sent to uplift and encourage. Is the selection random? If so, that process should be reconsidered so as to have at least two or three postitive messages thoughout the course of a week. Thank you.

Thanks for being a subscriber!
There may be other sites that are automatically generated with "feel-good" verses.
However, what I think that makes this site different is that each night I personally pick a verse to send out. Not every verse is easy to hear but it's necessary.
Even the "dark" verses are from God...the same God that gives us the "positive" verses. If He didn't want us to hear them He wouldn't have given them.
I find it so sad that people unsubscribe when they get a verse they may not like to hear, no matter how true that verse is or how relevant it is to their lives.
Don't close the book because you don't want to hear the truth.
Thank God for His mercy and words.

I must say that today this verse hit the spot. I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed, but all I wanted to do was grumble at everyone that walked by. I am about 8 hours ahead of the east coast, so I was well into my day already when this verse came into my inbox. By that point, I wasn't speaking to anyone much for my ridiculous frustration had escalated to anger. I was humbled instantly when I read this verse, for I realized that I was not acting in the glory of God. I could just imagine him looking down on me from the Heavens with His arms folded across his chest just shaking his head like my dad did. I instantly stopped what I was doing and bowed my head to pray. Thank you for what you do. Although I may be in the middle Iraq, these messages help me to keep my eyes focused on Him, for I rely greatly on Him for strength.

God is about truth and His word sets us free. He is the source of joy or "feeling good" He is also the source of wisdom, which this verse gives. We can't do anything without God. He is our refuge our fortress, we must continue to stay in His present and that sometimes takes a concious effort. This verse reminds us to do that. My pastor always says you have to bring an appetite to be fed. Next time, before you read the verse, ask God for a "Me" word. Meaning come with expectancy to gain knowledge and God will reveal what you need. Thank you for this verse and everyones comments. Have a great day!!!

inspiration is where we get it from, without the dark we won't know light, Without pain we know no pleasure, without sadness,no happiness. I feel it's the yin/yang of staying grounded & grateful. peace & love to all!

This is just my opinion... and only mine. Take it as you will. Have you thought about hearing and feeling what is written instead of expecting what you are looking for. God speaks to us always, We are the ones who choose to hear what he says. There have been many times when I go to church that I sit there and say this isn't a message I need to hear, I should have just stayed at home... Well by the end of the service, I am in tears and thankful that I went. He spoke to me as if I were the only one sitting there. God answers us sometimes when we least expect it. Open your mind and your heart to hear him. Maybe he isn't speaking to you directly but possibly that you may help someone else by his word. I wish you well and I will pray for you. Inspirational verses are great... I believe all the verses are inspirational in some way fashion or form. Keep believing.

I totally agree with you.Something can be on my mind.Bothering me and I can go to church.I amazes me that the preacher will preach or just mention my problem.God is good.Usually satan tries to interfer with me hearing what is said, but God always find a way to get our attention on stuff.

Todays Verse describes about the authority which Jesus gave to his Deciples especially to St. Peter just before ascending.
It also desribes the powers of POP which is seated on the position of St. Peter.
How is it not inspirational, I could not not understand. Because this is the verse which is the origin of the Christianity. and this verse must be known to every christian.

Make the conscious effort, and God will handle the rest. Be patient and remain faithful. He will renew your mind and restore your walk.
Thank you all for the words of encouragement. This collective group has inspired me and rejuvenated my walk today.
God Bless...
